Listening Copy Use case
Private album listening links for music PR and press
Send journalists an album they can listen to immediately, with its intended sequence and artwork. Listening Copy provides individual private links with browser playback, optional downloads, passwords, expiry and recipient-specific audio watermarking. Reviewers do not need to create an account.

Present the record as a record
A review copy should preserve the artist's sequence rather than leave a writer to work through filenames. Attach approved artwork, check the order and use the delivery note for context such as the release date and embargo. Communicate the embargo explicitly; an expiry setting is not an embargo agreement.
Give reviewers enough time to listen
Choose an expiry that covers the review window. Enable downloads if a writer needs offline files; otherwise browser listening may be enough. Send separate deliveries so activity and revocation remain specific.
- Upload the album and check its track order.
- Attach approved artwork and add a short delivery note.
- Choose watermarking and download permission for each recipient.
- Set a practical listening window and an optional password.
- Send the link and follow up politely if needed.
Interpret activity carefully
Sends shows link opens, plays and downloads. An email security scanner can open a URL before a human does, and an open does not establish that the journalist listened or plans to review the record. Treat activity as delivery context, not a promise of coverage.
Pricing and limits
Start free with three welcome watermark credits. WAV storage is available on Session, Studio and Teams; live folders start on Solo. One watermark credit covers up to 30 minutes of one track for one recipient; longer tracks use additional credits. Check the current pricing page for storage, included credits and billing options.
A watermark can help identify the delivered copy from which a leak originated. It does not prove who leaked it, prevent recording, or guarantee detection after every edit. Revoking a link stops future access through that link; it cannot recall files already downloaded.
Common questions
Can I replace artwork after sending?
Yes. Edit the delivery in Sends to add or replace its artwork. It appears on the link and in compatible mobile playback interfaces.
Can a journalist listen without downloading?
Yes. Choose streaming access and leave downloads disabled. That does not prevent recording playback.
Does a link open mean the email was read?
No. Opens can include automated checks. Plays and downloads give context, but do not prove editorial interest.
