Listening Copy

Listening Copy Use case

Private pre-release audiobook sharing

Listening Copy can share audiobook chapters as an ordered private playlist for reviewers, narrators, publishers and collaborators. Recipients listen in a browser without an account. Use individual links, expiry, optional passwords and recipient-specific audio watermarking for sensitive pre-release copies.

Prepare chapters for browser listening

Export chapters as separate audio files with clear numbered filenames, then check the order before sending. The playlist shows total playing time. Shorter chapters make a long book easier to navigate and reduce the impact of a failed upload.

Each uploaded file must be at most 1 GB and fit your plan's storage allowance. Use the file-size calculator before exporting long high-resolution WAVs. Processing time increases with the amount of audio.

Match delivery to the recipient

A reviewer may need only streaming while an editor may need downloads. Set access per delivery. Attach approved cover artwork and add a note with the edition or review context.

  1. Split the book into clearly named chapters.
  2. Upload and verify the order and total runtime.
  3. Attach the cover and add review instructions.
  4. Choose watermarking, password, expiry and downloads.
  5. Send one delivery per recipient and revoke it when the window ends.

Account for long-form audio

Watermark credits are charged per chapter file and recipient, in 30-minute blocks rounded up for each file. Ten chapters of up to 30 minutes each use ten credits for one recipient. A 45-minute chapter uses two credits per recipient. Check your balance before sending a long book to many people.

Listening Copy does not provide audiobook storefront distribution, chapter-level editorial comments, DRM or a dedicated offline audiobook app. Browser and device behaviour can affect long sessions and background playback.

Plans and watermarking limits

Start free with three welcome watermark credits. WAV storage is available on Session, Studio and Teams; live folders start on Solo. One watermark credit covers up to 30 minutes of one track for one recipient; longer tracks use additional credits. Check the current pricing page for storage, included credits and billing options.

A watermark can help identify the delivered copy from which a leak originated. It does not prove who leaked it, prevent recording, or guarantee detection after every edit. Revoking a link stops future access through that link; it cannot recall files already downloaded.
