Listening Copy vs Dropbox for unreleased music

Dropbox is useful for storing, syncing and sharing general files. Listening Copy is designed for private audio listening and delivery, with ordered playlists, artwork and optional recipient-specific audio watermarking. When Dropbox is a good fit

Use Dropbox for a shared working folder of sessions, documents and assets, or to synchronize general files. Sharing a single audio file may be enough when the recipient only needs to preview or download it.

Dropbox documents passwords, expiry and download restrictions for selected plans. Restrictions apply to shared links and supported previews; they do not stop saving content by another method.

Use both where it makes sense

A studio can keep sessions in Dropbox and use Listening Copy for client listening. You do not need to move the entire production workflow.

Start free with three welcome watermark credits. WAV storage is available on Session, Studio and Teams; live folders start on Solo. One watermark credit covers up to 30 minutes of one track for one recipient; longer tracks use additional credits. Check the current pricing page for storage, included credits and billing options.

Common questions

Does Dropbox offer passwords?

Yes, on eligible plans. Check its current shared-link documentation.

Is Listening Copy a Dropbox replacement?

For listening copies, it can be. It is not a general file-sync or session-storage service.
